I’m Kayla (she/they), a product designer who’s always been drawn to making things, whether that meant sketching, sewing, or customizing my MySpace page with code (arguably where this all started).
I didn’t take a straight path into design. I explored everything from film to software engineering before realizing design had been the common thread all along. It combined everything I loved: visual storytelling, problem-solving, and building things that actually work.
Today, I design digital products that help people navigate complex systems more easily, with a focus on bringing clarity and structure to messy or ambiguous problems.
Most recently, I was at Springboard, an online learning platform, where I designed core product experiences and contributed to building a scalable design system across web and mobile. Before that, I worked at Frequence, designing analytics tools for media advertisers across the country.

Outside of work, I’m usually making something!
Lately, that looks like sewing and learning pattern-making, thrifting pieces to rework, experimenting with new matcha recipes, or getting lost in a cozy creative project like journaling, scrapbooking, or building miniature scenes.
If I’m not home, I’m probably out exploring the Bay Area with my dogs, Tofu and Wallace! 🐾︎
